Keedysville Town Council

March 1, 2010

The monthly meeting of the Keedysville Town Council was called to order at 7:00 pm with the following members present: Mayor Matt Hull, Assistant Mayor Barry Levey, Council members, David Brumage, Richard Walton and Rob Smith and Town Administrator Rick Bishop.

Minutes from February 1, 2010 were read and approved.

The treasurer's report was as follows: $178,043.12.

The Bostetter Annexation was discussed. There has been no movement since the last Council meeting.

Assistant Mayor Levey updated the Council on the status of Bond Counsel.

Mayor Hull advised Council about a walk-through with LGIT, the Town's insurance company. It was noted that a storage shed at the water treatment plant had not been on the policy but was added.

Mayor Hull discussed the snow removal bills for 2009-2010. It was noted that Willow Run did a good job with the removal, that there was no funds to remove the piles of snow, that Washington County was not eligible for Federal funds for the December storm and that the February storms were still being considered for relief funds.

Tim Burtner addressed the Council requesting that the Burtner subdivision be "released" from the Town back into Washington County. He cited the history of the land, the aquifer and the availability of p ublic water. After much discussion, Assistant Mayor Levey moved to table the issue and Councilman Brumage seconded. Motion approved unanimously.

Karen Gardner advised the Council about plans for the tree planting by the Little Antietam behind Town Hall. Councilman Smith moved that the Council approved the tree planting. Councilman Walton seconded. Motion approved unanimously.

Terry Thompson requested that, instead of patching Mt. Vernon Drive where the water line was replaced, could the road be repaved. Mayor Hull said he would request a price from the contractor.

No further business to discuss.

Councilman Walton moved to adjourn. Assistant Mayor Levey seconded. Motion approved unanimously.

A motion to make payment for lawn treatment by Antietam Tree and Turf was made by Councilman Brumage and seconded by Richard Walton. Motion passed unanimously.

Meeting was adjourned at 8:25pm.
