Keedysville Town Council

February 7, 2011

The monthly meeting of the Keedysville Town Council was called to order at 7:00 pm with the following members present: Mayor Matt Hull, Assistant Mayor Barry Levey, Council Members Richard Walton and Rob Smith and Town Administrator Rick Bishop.

Minutes from January 3, 2011 were read and approved.

General Fund Report was $239,709.42.

The Weapons Discharge Ordinance was discussed. The exceptions to the definition of a weapon were noted. It was noted that while there was mention in the ordinance to a General Penalties section in the Town Ordinance there was no such section. Town Attorney Ed Kuczynski would be consulted. Mr. Levey made a motion to adopt the ordinance and to establish a fee schedule at a later date. Mr. Walton seconded. Motion passed unanimously.

The MEA Energy Grant as it related to replacing the heat pump at the library was discussed. Two items to be researched are will it cause problems with the grant to replace the heat pump before the grant is approved and can we continue to search for a less expensive, comparable heat pump?

Street light replacement by Allegheny Power was discussed and more information will be explored.

Clarification was made for the design of a sign for Town Hall. A new estimate will be sought.

Mr. Levey made a motion to continue with weed control applications in Taylor Park and the Ball park by Antietam Tree & Turf. Mr. Smith seconded. Motion passed unanimously.

Randy Burns noted that the Keedysville Ruritan Club was repairing the picnic tables in Taylor Park. He also requested on behalf of the Antietam Lodge to use the alley between the Lodge and Bryan Smith's residence and the parking area near the ball field for an open house on April 2nd. It was okayed by the Council.

Meeting adjourned at 8:09 pm.

Submitted,
Richard Bishop
Town Administrator
