Keedysville Town Council

July 1, 2013

The monthly meeting of the Keedysville Town Council was called to order at 7:00 pm with the following members present: Mayor Matt Hull, Assistant Mayor Barry Levey, Council Members Richard Walton, Victoria Gudeman and Gina Ellis. Mr. Levey departed at 7:35.

Minutes from June 3, 2013 were read and approved.

General Fund Report was $304,655.25.

Speed humps in Cannon Ridge were discussed. Mr. Levey made a motion to accept the bid from Huntzberry Bros. to install five speed bumps at a total cost of $12,500, with 50% of the cost to be paid by the Cannon Ridge HOA. Ms. Gudeman seconded. Motion passed unanimously.

The Day to Serve program was discussed. Ms. Gudeman offered to contact the program rep. to obtain more information.

Vandalism in the park was discussed, particularly the defecation that has been taking place on park equipment and in the sinks in the bathrooms. Mr. Levey suggested that cameras could be purchased for $1000 each to monitor the park. More information about cameras would be sought.

Eva Weigel said that she has seen many drivers speeding and asked if one of the Speed Sentry devices could be placed on the north end of Main St.

Shannon French suggested that the Town should look into pervious concrete for sidewalks.
