Keedysville Town Council

August 5, 2013

The monthly meeting of the Keedysville Town Council was called to order at 7:00 pm with the following members present: Assistant Mayor Barry Levey, Victoria Gudeman and Gina Ellis and Town Administrator Rick Bishop.

Minutes from July 1, 2013 were read and approved.

General Fund Report was $378,319.32.

Amanda Kimmell from South Mountain Little League repeated a request for a second back stop at Brandenburg Field and one at the field by the library.

Mr. Levey noted the completion of the speed humps in Cannon Ridge.

Ms. Gudeman gave an update on the "Day to Serve" program. She requested input on possible projects for the program. Two possibilities mentioned were picking up trash along the Little Antietam Creek and painting the bleachers at Brandenburg Field.

Mr. Levey said that he was in the process of looking into security cameras to combat the vandalism at Taylor Park.

Mr. Bishop gave an update on the initial sidewalk repairs to be completed by SHA. He said that the work was to be done either late summer or early fall.

Mr. Levey noted the workshop of the Mayor & Council on July 16 to discuss water & real estate tax rates. He said no action items came out of the meeting.

Mr. Levey made a motion to donate $125.00 for the purchase of chicken for the Wounded Warrior event on September 28. Ms. Gudeman seconded. Motion passed unanimously.

Mr. Levey made a motion to donate $300 to Fairview Cemetery. Ms. Gudeman seconded. Motion passed unanimously. There was a brief discussion of cemeteries in the area and their upkeep.
