Keedysville Town Council

October 7, 2013

The monthly meeting of the Keedysville Town Council was called to order at 7:00 pm with the following members present: Mayor Matt Hull, Council Members Richard Walton and Gina Ellis and Town Administrator Rick Bishop.

Minutes from September 3, 2013 were read and approved.

General Fund Report was $382,671.76.

Mayor Hull noted that the property easement with Washington County for repairs to the bridge on Coffman Farms Road had been signed.

Mayor Hull noted the announcements regarding street sweeping & the bulk trash pickup.

Mayor Hull noted the meeting with a camera company regarding security cameras for Taylor Park.

Mayor Hull noted that the speed hump signs had been put in place.

Mr. Bishop noted the announcement by the Maryland State Highway Administration that funds had been appropriated for design of a streetscape plan for Main Street in Keedysville.

Mr. Bishop noted that of the two junk vehicles that were in the parking lot by the rail bed, one has been removed and actions were being taken to remove the second.

Mr. Bishop discussed the Appalachian Regional Commission grant writing seminar that he and Ms. Ellis attended.

Luann Alspach asked if the bombs would be placed at the memorial on Mt. Hebron Rd. Robert Watkins said he is in the process of painting them.

Sue Gemeny asked if there were any plans, yet, to replace the monument in Taylor Park. The Mayor said not yet.

Mr. Walton asked if the streetscape project would require and Keedysville funds. Mr. Bishop said that, as far he knew, the answer was no.

Mr. Walton suggested that the Town should come up with long term plans for the Town, so as to better apply for grants.
