Keedysville Town Council

May 5, 2014

The monthly meeting of the Keedysville Town Council was called to order at 7:00 pm with the following members present: Mayor Matt Hull, Assistant Mayor Barry Levey, Council Members Victoria Gudeman, Gina Ellis and Ken Lord and Town Administrator Rick Bishop.

Re-elected Assistant Mayor Barry Levey was sworn in.

Re-elected Council Member Victoria Gudeman was sworn in.

Newly elected Council Member Ken Lord was sworn in.

Minutes from April 7, 2014 were read and approved.

General Fund Report was $354,077.88

The security cameras in Taylor Park were discussed. Of note, Mayor Hull said that the electricity for the cameras had been installed.

Mr. Bishop noted the upcoming meeting with SHA and Potomac Edison regarding pedestrian lighting in conjunction with the streetscape project.

Ms. Gudeman made a motion to keep the current real estate tax rate of $.18/$100 of assessed value. Mr. Levey seconded. Motion passed unanimously.

Mayor Hull presented a proposed FY 2015 budget. Mr. Levey made a motion to adopt the budget. There was no second. The Council decided to table it and consider it at the next meeting.

On behalf of the Planning & Zoning Commission, Mr. Bishop presented the Annual Report to the Maryland Department of Planning regarding New Residential Permits, to the Mayor and Council.

Mr. Levey made a motion to donate $500.00 to Fairview Cemetery and $200.00 to the Lupus Foundation. Ms. Gudeman seconded. Motion passed unanimously.

Ms. Gudeman asked for a notice to be placed on the Town website regarding times that are available for dog walking on Brandenburg field.

Ms. Gudeman noted the truck parked on N. Main St. with flat tires. Mayor Hull said that as long as it was properly tagged, there was not much to be done.
