Keedysville Town Council

June 1, 2015

The monthly meeting of the Keedysville Town Council was called to order at 7:00pm with the following members present: Mayor Matt Hull, Council Members Victoria Gudeman, Gina Ellis and Ken Lord and Town Administrator Rick Bishop.

Minutes from May 4, 2015 were read and approved.

General Fund Report was $263,395.64.

Mayor Hull noted that street sweeping would take place on Wednesday, June 4 and Town Hall would be closed Wednesday, July 1-July 8, reopening on Thursday, July 9th.

Ms. Gudeman updated the Mayor & Council on the MSCS&EP. She noted that she is still waiting for a reply to an email she sent to the new SHA project lead.

Mayor Hull asked if there was any discussion regarding the proposed FY 2016 budget. Ms. Ellis asked where funds would come from to purchase trees for Taylor Park. Mayor Hull said they would come under the Park Maintenance line. Ms. Gudeman asked where, in the budget, the Land Development fees to be collected from Austin Gray would be recorded. Mayor Hull said that they would not be part of the budget but would go into the Land Development account. Ms. Gudeman made a motion to adopt the budget. Ms. Ellis seconded. The motion passed unanimously.

Mr. Bishop informed the Mayor & Council that, according to the Washington County Board of License Commissioners, Keedysville is entitled to one off-premise sales liquor license. There is no limit to the number of on-premise sale liquor licenses for the town.

Mr. Bishop read thank you notes for donations from the town from Fairview Cemetery and Cindy Brandenburg.

Louis Altamura asked the Mayor & Council would consider altering the ordinances and allowing residents to raise chickens. After much discussion, it was decided to continue the discussion at a later date.

Ms. Gudeman asked how much it would cost for the attorney to draft an ordinance. Mr. Bishop said he would contact Mr. Kuczynski to find out.

Ms. Ellis asked how much a free standing plaque cost. She was asked to contact Kenney Signs for pricing.
