Keedysville Town Council

August 1, 2016

The monthly meeting of the Keedysville Town Council was called to order at 7:00pm with the following members present: Mayor Ken Lord, Assistant Mayor Barry Levey, Council Member Gina Ellis and Town Administrator Rick Bishop.

Mr. Levey made a motion to appoint Judy Kerns and David Bajuscak to fill the two vacant Council Member seats. Ms. Ellis seconded. Motion passed unanimously.

Mayor Lord swore in new Council Member Judy Kerns.

Mayor Lord swore in new Council Member David Bajuscak.

General Fund Report was $366,904.00

There was discussion about an HOA for the Stonecrest subdivision.

Mr. Levey made a motion to accept the bid for Huntzberry Bros. for the milling and repaving of Mallard Lane. Ms. Kerns seconded. Motion passed unanimously.

Mayor Lord asked if there were any volunteers to act as the ex officio to the Planning & Zoning Commission. Mr. Bajuscak said he would attend the August meeting.

Ms. Ellis asked if Danny Garling had been contacted about repairing and re-pointing the stone wall in the park. Mr. Bishop said he had spoken to him previously.

Ms. Ellis asked if different arrangements could be made to empty the trash can in the park by the pavilion.

Mr. Levey made a motion to donate $75.00 to the Washington County Commission on Aging. Ms. Kerns seconded. Vote was two to two. Mayor Lord cast the deciding vote in favor of the donation. The motion passed.

Ms. Ellis made a motion to donate $200 to the Sharpsburg Little League for a trip to the playoffs. Mr. Bajuscak seconded. Motion passed unanimously.

Minutes from July, 2016 were read and approved.

Bob Watkins noted a section of sidewalk on No. Main St. where there was no fence and that the backstop in the field by the library had not been replaced.

John Rice said that Bedrock needs to be repaired, the signs at the intersection of Columbine and Bedrock need to be replaced, that the culvert at the same intersection needs to be repaired, the chevrons on the speed humps on Taylor Dr. need to be repainted.
