Keedysville Town Council

December 4, 2017

The monthly meeting of the Keedysville Town Council was called to order at 7:00pm with the following members present: Mayor Ken Lord, Assistant Mayor Barry Levey, Council Members Gina Ellis and Judy Kerns and Town Administrator Rick Bishop.

The minutes for November, 2017 were read and approved.

General Fund Report was $357,061.27.

Mayor Lord noted announcements not listed on the agenda.

Ms. Ellis noted a thank you note from Breast Cancer Awareness of Cumberland Valley for the donations from Keedysville. The donations from the Ice Cream Social, Ruritan Bingo and from the Town totaled. $2045.00.

Eric, Larry & Karen Matson were present to request that their property along Rte. 34 be "de-annexed" from the Town. There was much discussion about that process and other possibilities for their property, including placing it in a forest conservation area and creating a new agricultural district in Town that the property could be placed in. Mayor Lord said that the Town would take the matter under advisement.

Mayor Lord noted the Pre-legislative Day being sponsored by Delegate Neil Parrot scheduled for Tuesday, December 5. He asked if the Council had any items to present. The restoration of Highway User Revenues and rehab for the Main Street bridge were mentioned.

Mr. Bishop noted that Right Choice Roofing said that they are intending to replace the roofs on the park pavilions in a week or two. He also said that Andy Wyand said that the chinking may need to wait until warmer weather.

Due to the New Year's holiday, the M&C meeting for January was moved to Wednesday, January 3.

Ms. Kerns thanked Ms. Ellis and her husband, Eric, for decorating the tree in the park.
