Keedysville Town Council

May 4, 2009

The monthly meeting of the Keedysville Town Council was opened with the following members present: Mayor Hull, Asst. Mayor Levey, council members Rob Smith, Richard Walton and Town Administrator Simmons.

Minutes were read and approved.

The treasurer's report was as follows: $128,439.57

Mowing bids were reviewed and awarded to Evergreen. Mowing at the new Town Hall will continue to be done by George Higgins.

Issue of the cost of railing at the old school was once again visited. Barry Levey made a motion that the Town would donate the cost for the install of the railing, Richard Walton 2nd total cost $1875 would be donated to the old school.

Bids for the Doors were reviewed and Richard Walton made a motion to award the bid to Simmons Solutions, Barry Levey 2nd motion all agreed.

Bids for the basketball court overlay were reviewed a motion was made by Barry Levey and 2nd by Richard Walton to award bid to Remsburg Family Partnership.

A motion was made to install 2 speed humps on Taylor Drive to slow down traffic by Barry Levey and 2nd by Rob Smith.

Mayor Hull discussed the plans to install a new sidewalk within Taylor Park; work will move forward to gather bids for project.

A request for an amendment to the Livestock Law was voiced by Town Resident Marci Jastrab. After much discussion, Mayor Hull advised that the Town would take the next 30 days to gather facts from Town Attorney and other residents on the possibility. Issue would be reviewed at next month's meeting
