Keedysville Town Council

November 2, 2009

The monthly meeting of the Keedysville Town Council was opened with the following members present: Mayor Hull, Asst. Mayor Levey, council member Rob Smith and Town Administrator Simmons.

Minutes were read and approved.

The treasurer's report was as follows: $146,159.78

Josh Russin sector coordinator from the Governor's office was present to advise Town that they may be experiencing budget cuts next FY but that they should not be as severe as the one experinced this year.

Carl Hardcastle owner of Greenscape Trash and Lawn was present to advise the sale of his refuse business to Apple Valley Waste in Kearneysville. Mr.Hardcastle advised that there would be no changes in collection services or collections just a new name on the truck. The Mayor & Council were satisfied to allow the curren contract to roll over to Apple Valley.

The ordinance and Deeds to transfer the ownership of the Cannon Ridge Subdivision roads over to Keedysville were presented. After review of legal papers, a motion was made by Barry Levey and 2nd by Rob Smith to accept transfer.

A request was made for an annual donation to the Keedysville Library. Funds will be used to host a lholiday Christmas party as well as an open house of the newly remodeled Library. A motion was made by Barry Levey to donate $200.00 and 2nd by Rob Smith.
