Keedysville Planning and Zoning

The minutes from April 2017 were read and approved. It was noted that due to a lack of a quorum no meeting was in May. Also, there was no meeting in June due to lack of access to Town Hall.
The Commission approved the design of the draft zoning map provided by Fox & Associates with the correction of the spelling of Sumter Dr.
The amendment for the Comprehensive Plan to include the Heart of the Civil War Heritage Area was discussed. Language from the Town of Sharpsburg's amendment was presented and it appears to be sufficient for Keedysville. The Commission is waiting to hear from town attorney, Ed Kuczynski as to whether or not the amendment must be done by a resolution or an ordinance. It is hoped to have a draft of either by the August meeting.
Building plans for a new home at 36 Farragut Drive for Brandon Sweeney were discussed. It was noted that certain documents and fees need to be paid before a permit could be issued. Ms. Baker made a motion to issue a building permit for the home, provided all documentation was provided and fees paid. Mr. Rhoads seconded. Motion passed unanimously.
Motion to adjourn the meeting was made by Mr. Carroll. Mr. Rhoads seconded. All agreed. The meeting adjourned at 7:20PM.
