Keedysville Water Commission
December 5, 2011
The monthly meeting of the Keedysville Water Commission was called to order at 7:22 pm, with the following members present: Commission Chairman Barry Levey, Commission Members Matt Hull, Richard Walton, Victoria Gudeman and Tim Robertson and Town Administrator Rick Bishop.
Minutes for November 7, 2011 were read and approved.
General Fund Report was $124,161.77.
Mr. Levey noted that all the new valves for isolation work. However, under the current design, only parts of the town are covered by loops.
Mr. Levey noted the start up and training for the new components to the water system.
Mr. Levey noted the operating budget that will be submitted to USDA to satisfy the loan requirements. Mr. Levey made a motion to have the Mayor sign the budget report for USDA. Mr. Hull asked about the necessity to pass an ordinance switching the purpose of the "Debt Service" collection from repayment of the loan for the water treatment plant to the repayment of the new loan with USDA. Town Attorney Ed Kuzcynski would be consulted. Mr. Hull then seconded. Motion passed unanimously.
Delores Slattery asked about the required testing for the water tower. Mr. Levey said that all required tests have been passed.
Eva Weigel asked about any repairs to be made by C. William Hetzer to the cistern at the intersection of Mt. Hebron Rd. and Main St. Mr. Levey said he wasn't sure what repairs were scheduled to be made.
Mr. Levey discussed removal of the pressure reduction valves at Rockingham and Cannon Ridge. There were bids from Huntzberry Bros. and C. William Hetzer. However, the bids were for two different quantities. Clarification would be sought.
