Keedysville Water Commission

May 6, 2013

The monthly meeting of the Keedysville Water Commission was called to order at 7:40 pm, with the following members present: Commission Chairman Barry Levey, Commission Members Matt Hull, Richard Walton and Gina Ellis and Town Administrator Rick Bishop.

Minutes for April 1, 2013 were read and approved.

General Fund Report was $150,102.19.

Mr. Levey noted that a generator for the water treatment plant would need to be bid out because the cost would be well over $10,000.

Mr. Levey noted that a budget proposal indicates a possible shortfall for FY 2014 due to Boonsboro's reluctance to pay a share of the maintenance and operating costs of the water tank.

Mr. Levey noted that the plans for the repairs to the spring house are complete.

Mr. Levey said that with regards to the maintenance and operations of the water system and dealing with Boonsboro, he is thinking long term so that future water commissions would not have to deal with the issues currently hampering the system.

The fencing around the spring house and the need to complete the repairs to the weir before the fence is installed was discussed.

Mr. Levey noted the leak in the meter crock at 47 So. Main St. and that Hetzer repaired it the same afternoon.

Meeting adjourned at 8:00p.m.

Richard Bishop
