There have been several concerns raised about the new pedestrian lighting on Main Street. The Mayor and Council have had many conversations with residents and on Saturday, March 14th a test of several options for the lights were tested on South Main Street. Stemming from that test, lights will be dealt with individually. Dimmers will be installed to lessen the brightness of the lights where needed. Also, the lights may be directed in different directions where needed. Currently, the newly lit lights on North Main Street are being put through a “30-day burn”, during which the lights are left on and being tested for any problems. Lastly, some of the overhead gooseneck street lights, where no longer needed, will be removed once the SHA Main Street project is complete.
