The Keedysville Historical Society is dedicated to preserving the history of our village, our community, and our county. We are equally interested in the great events that have found their way into history books and the little known histories of the families who have called Keedysville home during the almost 250 years of its existence. We welcome photographs, memories, and memorabilia, and are always eager to recruit speakers for our monthly meetings. Our membership comprises an enthusiastic group of history lovers who meet monthly, September through June, to listen to speakers, and share the local history-in-the-making that is community life. We also take field trips of historic interest. Recent trips have included visits to the Miller House in Hagerstown and Plumb Grove in Clear Spring. We have also been privileged to visit the beautifully preserved homes of some of our neighbors.
We meet the third Monday of each month from September through June at 7 pm, usually at St. Peters Lutheran Church on North Main Street. We welcome visitors and prospective members. For more information please call Sue Gemeny at 301-432-8216 or Sandy Burton at 301-432-6206.
