Town of Keedysville Election
Saturday, May 4, 2024 from 9:00am-6:00pm at Town Hall
This election is for the positions of Mayor and one Council Member.

There is one candidate for Mayor – Ken Lord

A message from Mr. Lord: “I would welcome the opportunity to continue to serve as Mayor of Keedysville. I’m an 18-year resident of the town and have served in many roles during that time, beginning with the Planning Commission, followed by Town Council, and in 2016 I ran a successful write-in campaign for Mayor. Since then, many positive changes have taken place, including a major streetscape enhancement project on Main Street.  We work closely with our partners in Boonsboro to carefully manage our joint water system. We practice careful fiscal responsibility, with a balanced budget each year, no increases in taxes, and successful independent financial audits every year. Our residents enjoy improved customer service through our excellent town hall staff, expanded town hall hours, and use of newsletters and social media. We’re actively involved in the Maryland Municipal League at the county and state level, and achieved certification through the Sustainable Maryland program based on our efforts to become more energy efficient and promote sustainable practices through our Green Team. It has been my honor to help make a difference in our town, and I would appreciate the opportunity to continue making it a better place.

There is one candidate for one Council Member position – Sarah Baker

A message from Ms. Baker: “I was born and raised in Keedysville and choose as an adult to raise my children in this community as well. I love our town and am committed to retaining our safe small town feel. I began my town service as a member of planning and zoning in 2014 where I remained until 2020 when I was appointed as a council member to fill a vacant position. As a council member I’ve taking on the task of managing road paving. I’m committed to keeping our taxes low and operating within a balanced budget.”
